Path Network launches DDoS scrubbing center in Sydney

Path Network has been partnering with Equinix for premium colocation services since day one, being present in 13 of their strategic data centers across Europe, the USA, and the APAC region.

The most recent one added to the list is Equinix SY5, Sydney, our newest PoP and the first one in Australia, adding another 300 Gbps capacity to our global 12Tbps network.

This would be the 3rd Equinix location in the APAC region for Path, after Singapore and Tokyo.

Australia has one of the most competitive and mature telecommunications markets in the world with a rapid adoption of DDoS protection and mitigation solutions to gain visibility in their networks.

The large enterprises and SMEs in APAC countries are recognizing the significance of data security keeping in mind that this region received over 40% of all the Network DDoS attacks in 2021.

In response to growing demand, Path Network has launched the scrubbing center in Equinix Sydney campus, to provide customers with real-time local protection, support, and expertise.

The new scrubbing center is a part of Path’s global backbone and is a further demonstration of our investment into APAC and a broader strategy to prioritize the QoS for our customers in this region.

No matter if used always on or on-demand, our scrubbing centers analyze traffic to establish a normal baseline and identify and mitigate DDoS attacks by detecting threats or traffic anomalies. More importantly, the new capability of filtering traffic through an Australian scrubbing center mitigates compliance processes involved in offshore routing. This offers customers a truly consistent service and industry-leading time-to-mitigation.
